There aren't many things that we expect to last forever. Not clothes, a car, or even a mobile phone. So it's funny that we expect so much from our mobile PC's hp pavilion dv2000 battery. We expect it to get us through the day, the road trip to Dallas, or the flight to Paris.

Before you plan your party, make a to-do list, and set reminders in your calendar, take a minute to set your mobile PC's power plan. Then, be sure to adjust it throughout the day according to your activities, so you get the most from the battery charge.

- Reduce the length of time before Windows turns off the display or puts your mobile PC to sleep. When you're not using your mobile PC, you can save power by having Windows turn off the display or put it to sleep after a period of inactivity.

On the road
You're in the middle of mixing the soufflé and you've run out of eggs. What else do you need? Make a last-minute shopping list on your mobile PC by using Microsoft Office OneNote (a tool that you use to create notes in your own handwriting), and then head to the store. But don't leave your mobile PC at home! Take it with you so you can update your grocery list on the go. Before you leave, just close the lid of your mobile PC. By default, your mobile PC goes to sleep when you close the lid, which uses less power than shutting it down and then restarting it later. Plus, sleep saves your work so you can resume quickly.
When you get to the store, open the lid of your computer, and pick up right where you left off. Switch to the Power saver plan to make sure you have enough hp pavilion dv2000 battery charge to finish your shopping.

When your friends sit down to dinner, switch to the Balanced power plan to play music that enhances great conversation. This plan automatically uses full performance when you need it and saves power when you don't.
