Cooperation between a Famous Chinese Company and Timken

On July 29, 2010, The Timken Company has received an order which valued 26 million U.S dollars from Xinjiang Goldwind Science& Technology Co., Ltd –one of world's top five wind power equipment manufacturers. Timken will provide bearing products and services for it.

In 2009, Goldwind Company got many new orders. And according to the contract, the Timken would provide bearing products for the capacity of more than 1,500 megawatts of new wind power installed for the company. Moreover, a broad range of business that is covered by the contract further made good on the promise of Timken' long-term commitment to develop in the wind energy technology field. Meanwhile, it would support the company to expand its business in the wind power industry.

Under the agreement, Timken should provide the Goldwind with engineering technical support, advanced bearing products (including Timken ? Ultra Wind tapered roller bearings), and condition monitoring systems and services. These are mainly used in the Goldwind's 1.5 MW and 2.5 MW wind turbine platform. The two sides will expand cooperation in the development of future models.

This cooperation consolidates the leadership of Timken in the wind power bearing market. As a customer-oriented supplier, Timken can offer the full life cycle solution project for the MW-class fans, including bearings, gearbox systems, seals products, lubrication products, online condition monitoring systems and technical support services.

The cooperation also enables both companies which are at the leading position in the green energy research and development to give full play to their advantages.
