A campaign called the Civic Study Break tour is making the rounds on Facebook, targeting college kids that could use the reliability and fuel efficiency benefits of the Civic in their every day lives. Another part of the reason why Honda is targeting the college crowd is that the new Civic models incorporate technology that is sure to appeal to a younger, more connected and more tech-savvy audience. The Civic models are also extremely cost-effective and cutting-edge in terms of engine technology, so they make a strong case for the money-strapped college student. Using Facebook as the venue for the West Coast tour is perfect to appeal to the college crowd. College students also tend to want to express themselves; the Civic's new personalization features will help them do that, and Shelton Honda dealers are excited to see the results.
What's a marketing initiative without an opportunity to win something? The Honda Civic Si Coupe is the award up for grabs as part of the tour, which visited six different universities over April and May. The tour stops include: University of Arizona (April 28); University of Southern California (May 3); University of California, Los Angeles (May 5); Stanford University (May 10) and University of California, Berkeley (May 12)."
