In the olden times people chilled their food with ice or snow. They dug holes in the ground and lined the hole with wood and straw and then loaded it with snow or ice. History has shown us that this is literally the only means of food preservation during those times.

Smaller refrigerators are ideal for the average kitchen area and the bigger ones are for those kitchens with wider spaces available. Measuring first the area for the brand new appliance can be a big help to select a refrigerator that will perfectly fit the space provided. The refrigerator must be in a good location so it won't be an obstruction to the kitchens flow. If the refrigerator size fits properly in the kitchen, there'll still be enough space when the door is opened. Sometimes, a bottom freezer refrigerator is ideal because it doesn't require as much swing space. This will prevent collision with other appliances.
The color of refrigerator you ultimately choose will enhance the beauty and compliment the style of the kitchen. From the different colors to various styles, there are lots of decisions to be made. No decision is too little so you have to give each ample consideration.

Freon is a registered trademark of DuPont. It is their line of HCFC refrigerant products. It is still used today in many refrigeration systems. However, production phaseout of this product will reduce and eventually eliminate the production of HCFC products. By that time most or all Freon refrigeration systems will most likely be replaced or retrofitted by non-HCFC products.
