What can cause HVAC compressor to sweat and discharge to be cool?
The high pressure line is cool leaving the compressor and the compressor is sweating. The unit is still cooling the home and is approx. 4yrs old.
The discharge is not running hot (or warm for that matter). The high pressure line leaving the condenser is cooler than ambient temp. Also the low pressure (suction line) is not sweating as much as the compressor. Could this be from being overcharged w/ freon and the relief protection is paying off to the suction (low pressure line)

Answer:
Well the sweating is condensation kinda like a cold beer can on a hot summer day. The unit uses refrigerant that absorbs the heat in your house threw the evaporator coil and discharges it threw your outside condenser coil. Heat is attracted to cold so the low boiling point of refrigerant is squirted into your evap coil threw a cap tube and it boiling off makes it cold and attracts the heat. It is hot when it hits the condenser so the outside temp is cooler and releases the heat.
